What is important?
There is another postponement of the date from which the ban on landfilling selected hazardous waste is to come into effectThis regime is now postponed until until the end of 2027.
The reason is obvious – for some of this waste there is still there are not enough capacities for their other processing, especially in incinerators or facilities for energy recovery.
What does this mean in practice?
- Landfilling of some hazardous waste remains possible.
- Regulation is tightening, but its full effectiveness is being postponed.
- Businesses are given time to adapt, but not a permanent exemption.
Why is this important?
The change confirms a long-standing problem:
- The infrastructure for managing hazardous waste is not yet sufficient to meet real needs.
The amendment thus represents a compromise between regulatory objectives and practical feasibility.
