In the near future we can expect significant novely Act No. 542/2020 Coll., on products
with end of life, which responds to the European regulation on batteries and waste batteries, and whose basic form was approved by the current outgoing government.

The aim of the law is to adapt the rules for handling batteries to be in line with EU requirements and to clearly establish who is responsible for the collection, recycling and further handling of used batteries.

Even though the amendment to the law is still at the beginning of the legislative process, we recommend following its development. The final form of the law may have a significant impact on all entrepreneurs who handle batteries or battery storage facilities.
