At the beginning of this year, the Municipal Court in Prague ruled on the denial of the right to information, when the applicant asked the relevant administrative authorities to provide information on who is the real owner of Agrofert. The Municipal Court in Prague in its judgment no. 11 A 78/2021-31 of 6.1.2022 January XNUMX noted that the directly effective provisions of Article 30 paragraph 1 and paragraph 5 of Directive (EU) 2015/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council on preventing the use of the financial system for money laundering or terrorist financing as amended by Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2018/ 843 guarantee anyone from the general public the right to information about the beneficial owner, to the extent of name, date of birth, country of residence, nationality and the nature and extent of his participation in the company or other legal entity entered in the register. Based on the aforementioned legislation, the administrative authorities are therefore obliged to provide information about the real owner of the company to basically anyone who asks for it.
